Well.....they wanted to make sure there is almost no lag, so think of it as perfecting it.
Besides, this is a wii shooter, and if you have COD, you know what I mean.
There are only 8 players on that game online at one time, but it is still very hectec on big maps(cliffside.)
It does not take away from the fun much at all.
Most of my buds think if there were any more than 16 people, it would be wreck due to hecktecness.
It will be fast-paced enough.

lol i did, ign removed the 16 player mysteriously, no sites had th 16 player up anymore, and play.com the latest site to put the conduit for sale had 12 players on it.
It was common sense
ign wouldn't randomly jus remove it, HVS knew they was strugling with 16 so they asked everyone to remove it and update new sites with the 12 player

Yes, espicially with wii.
Not because wii cant handle more(which it can, up to 40 max on company based servers.)
But because it is very hectec with almost any amount of players.

I really don't mind. 11 other people to shoot is is still plenty. And if it's to improve the online quality, how can I complain?

Hopefully, the multiplayer will be up to 16 players in the sequel, if there is any.

There is a sequel.
They won't be able to add in anything that they can't now if they use the Quantum3 engine, unless they upgrade it. The envelope-pushing graphics are what restricts them from 16 players and split screen since they're trying to keep at least 30FPS.

Let's hope they upgrade it, then. The Conduit was initially supposed to run at 60 FPS, but they had to change it to 30.

due to the Quantum3 engine. The engine is what restrains other features that could create lag, since their settled goal was 30. If they go even lower than that, then.. well, they can't, so that's why they made no Co-op/SplitScreen/16Player/60FPS. 60FPS, the original goal, would be much for even 12 players, so I'm guessing that's why it had to be cut to 30. Oh well. Frames don't really matter to me. 30 FPS is pretty fast, so all is fine. As long as wii, wii users (pun), have something to brag about and have fun with. YAY FOR THE CONDUIT!
