Re: awesome friend news!
when they said "tag them as a friend or rival" they ment that you could sort out friends from rivals. you cant tag them and there on your friends list.
they have to already be on your friends list, which means you need there friend code. then you can mark(tag) them as a rival or friend.
i dont think its all what you guys are thinking.

Re: awesome friend news!
yea you might can tag them as a friend or rival so when you see them next time youll know what they are to you. But when you tag them, its not gonna put them on your list.

@Axel:
WiiSpeak is the equivalent of the 360 headset, but better, since your friends can talk in it as well. You just put it over the wii sensor bar or something and you can talk from there. It's not just one headset where only one person has to hear it, but it's something you just put on your TV so people can talk.
You people need to see this in a different light. I actually see it as a benefit that you can only chat with people on your fc because:
1) You trust the people on your list
2) In online play, you can hear only the people you trust as opposed to some snotty 9 year old who keeps mouthing off. or the occasional 12 year old who keeps swearing and trash talking. >_>' It's better than the mute button!
3) You don't have to worry about random screamers, since you can talk to them on the computer (or something) pre-game and tell them what you can/can't do. This is also good if you want to have a customized match with your own rules (ie: In whatever mode, you can only use this item or pick-up this item) and know that they'll follow the rules.
the only down side I see is on online play, you can't talk to team-mates in a team-oriented mode.
